The Sustainable Travel and Tourism Africa conducted a rapid assessment to determine the number of counties that have developed their tourism policies since devolution of tourism in Kenya. A desktop research was used to obtain this information from the website and using databases from Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) and Kenya Law. With only 4% of counties having developed their policies, this assessment gives an insight into the progress of tourism in counties in terms of policy making with several citing resources, especially financial as a limiting factor in the development of their policies.
